Newlyn to Penzance 1 Mile
This annual event is a highlight in the local calendar; this swim course runs the length of Penzance Promenade - fantastic for spectators and participants alike. 2025 sees a new setup - with the addition of a 'competitive race' for swimmers completing the race in under 25 minutes. 'The Original mile' is open to all, starting from Newlyn and ending at the Jubilee Pool slipway.

Registration is from 14:00 - 16:20 in the shop.
The 'Competitive Race' starts 17:00.
The 'Original Mile' starts at 17:40.

'The Original Mile'
The Original Mile is approximately one mile in length, starting from Newlyn Green and finishing on the Jubilee Pool Slipway.
For ages 16+ and aiming to complete the swim on OVER...
The Original Mile is approximately one mile in length, starting from Newlyn Green and finishing on the Jubilee Pool Slipway.
For ages 16+ and aiming to complete the swim on OVER 25 minutes.
Registration is from 14:00 in the shop.
The race starts at 17:40.
Swimmers still in the water after an hour will be assisted to the nearest exit.
Please note that due to tides, the Competitive course may be slightly different to the Original mile; and therefore some category placings / times may not be comparable.
